Rhythm LabRhythm Lab is an app that allows students to learn rhythm and create and share their own. Rhythm Lab helps students improvise and compose their own beats by dragging in clips or tapping out their own.
Jazz Improvisation TechniquesJazz Improvisation Techniques teaches music theory, harmony and form and how it applies to improvization.

Ilmprov This app aims to teach the fundamentals of jazz improvisation by teaching integral intervals, modes, resolutions and forms, then offers "JAM-A-longs" to help reinforce the basics of chords, rhythm and improvisation.
Echo String LiteEcho String Lite is an app that allows for playing around and improv. It is set up like an autoharp, where you can strum chords or pluck notes: it also highlights common tones and common chord tones.

iReal ProiReal Pro is an improvisation app that allows the user to improvise over a back band and teachs basic chord progressions. iReal allows students to practice improv outside the classroom. iReal also allows students to build their own progressions.
BeatwaveBeatwave allows for composition created within the app, with opportunity to layer instruments and rhythms, much like Garageband, but for people with much less technical ability.
